Special Education

The Stroudsburg Area School District either directly or through contact with other educational agencies, provides special education programs and services that are required to meet the needs of students identified with a disability and in need of specially designed instruction.  An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is developed for each our students on a yearly basis and is implemented in the least restrictive setting.  The IEP provides the building level teams with the program and recommendations to meet the specific and individual needs of these students.  Both regular and special education classes are available to students with disabilities.  A range of program options are available to include learning support, emotional support, life skill and autistic support programs.  Pace of instruction, class size, use of alternate instructional materials and curriculums differentiate special education services from the regular education setting
