Mr. BruskiJim has been at SHS for 8 years, he teaches Honors, College Prep, and Applied levels of Biology. He attended Western Washington University and East Stroudsburg University. He holds a BS in Biology and Environmental Science as well as a Master's degree in Education. He has been involved in Science Olympiad, an advisor for Student council and a class advisor.

Mr. Jim DeRenzis

Mr. DeRenzisMr. DeRenzis, a 2000 graduate from the Pennsylvania State University, has been on the High School staff since 2002. He came to us from Pocono Mountain after spending two years as an earth science and biology teacher. Mr. DeRenzis teaches ecology and biology classes here at Stroudsburg. He also coaches soccer on both the boys and girls side. Mr. DeRenzis is currently working on a sport management degree at East Stroudsburg University.

Mr. Gerald Dieter

Mr. DieterGerald has been a Chemistry teacher at Stroudsburg High School for 11 years. He graduated from Muhlenberg College with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry, and certification by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to teach Chemistry. He received his Master’s of Science Degree from Wilkes University. He worked at Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. where he developed catalyst systems for polyurethane foam reactions. He also worked for the City of Allentown, PA prior to arriving in the Stroudsburg Area School District. He coached the Science Olympiad team for several years, and won the MVC, and the Eastern Regional competition each year he coached. He has also been a recipient of the Who’s Who in American High School Teachers.

Mr. DoneyJim has been at SHS for 10 years and teaches Honors, College Prep, and Advanced Placement levels of Physics. He attended Penn State University and East Stroudsburg University. He holds a degree in Secondary Education with certifications in physics, mathematics, and general science.

Mr. David Hakim

Mr. HakimI graduated from Bloomsburg University with a B.S. in Biology, a B.S. in Education and a minor in Chemistry. I started teaching in 2003 at the Stroudsburg Jr. High School. From there I moved to the new Middle School and now I'm happy to be teaching at the High School. I am currently teaching Ecological Issues and 10th grade Biology. I enjoy traveling, skiing, hiking as well as coaching girls soccer for the district.

Mr. Kurt Pfeiffer

Mr. PfeifferMr. Pfeiffer has been teaching at SHS since 1994, currently teaching Advanced Placement, College Prep, and Remedial levels of Biology. He has a BS in Education with a concentration in biology from Kutztown University and an MS in Education with an emphasis on classroom technology from Wilkes University.

Mrs. Katherine (Dubin) Uhler

Mrs. UhlerKatherine (Dubin) Uhler has been teaching at Stroudsburg High School for 23 years. She teaches Ecology and Field Biology, Principles of Ecology, and Bioethics. She attended East Stroudsburg University and holds a BS in Secondary Education/Biology, a BS in Environmental Science and a Master's degree in Wildlife Biology. She has been involved in the student environmental club and Science Olympiad. She is also the founder and director of the Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Cheri L. West (Monaghan)

Mrs. West has been a chemistry teacher at SHS for 19 years. She teaches Honors, College Prep, and Technical Preparation levels of chemistry. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Pennsylvania State University’s Scholars Program with an Honors BS in Chemistry Education. She earned a Master's degree in Chemistry Education from DeSales University as well as a Master’s equivalency through coursework at Wilkes and Scranton Universities. She has been honored with an Outstanding Science Teacher award by East Stroudsburg University’s Chapter of Sigma Xi and has been nominated by former students to “Who’s Who Among American Educators” six times. Mrs. West founded and advised “SECO,” the Student Environmental Conservation Organization and has been adviser to the Step / Drill Team for several years. She both taught and advised the staff of Stroudsburg High School’s award-winning yearbook and has served as a high school publications judge for Columbia University’s Scholastic Press Association. She currently serves as Membership Coordinator for Stroudsburg Area’s Education Association. Since her daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 (Juvenile) diabetes five years ago, she has been a public advocate for diabetes awareness and has helped to raise over $50,000 for diabetes research.

Mr. YoungkenBrett Youngken has been at SHS for seven years. He teaches College Prep, and Applied levels of Biology, and Anatomy & Physiology. He graduated from California University of PA and East Stroudsburg University. He holds a BS in Biology, an MS Cardiac Rehabilitation and a PA Teacher Certification. He has been involved in Science Olympiad and the Greenhouse Club.
