About Mr. Sodl
Mr. Sodl is beginning his 32nd year in public education, 31 within the Stroudsburg Area School District. Before coming to Stroudsburg High School in 1991, Mr. Sodl began his teaching career at Northampton High School, where he taught Biology. Mr. Sodl spent many years in the High School Science Department before becoming an Assistant Principal in 2001. Mr. Sodl became the Stroudsburg High School Principal in the 2004-2005 school year. Over the course of nearly 20 years as Principal of Stroudsburg High School, Mr. Sodl has been instrumental in numerous academic, capital project, and school culture initiatives that set Stroudsburg apart from other high schools. Additionally, Mr. Sodl served as President of both the Mountain Valley Conference and Eastern Pennsylvania Conference.
Along with Mr. Sodl’s teaching responsibilities and before accepting an administrative position, Mr. Sodl served as the Head Varsity Baseball Coach of the Stroudsburg Mountaineers for six seasons, along with serving as an Assistant Varsity Football Coach for nine years. Mr. Sodl grew up in Coplay, PA and attended Whitehall High School in the Lehigh Valley. Mr. Sodl obtained his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in Biology, pursued his Master’s of Educational Administration degree at East Stroudsburg University, and received his Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility from Marywood Univeristy.
Mr. Sodl resides in Stroudsburg School District with his wife, Suzanne; son Logan, a 2020 graduate of Stroudsburg High School and student at Gettysburg College; and son Ethan, a 2022 graduate of Stroudsburg High School and student at Dickinson College.
